Green Schools Foundation proudly sponsors the Academy of Scholars at Green High School and Green Middle School. This program recognizes students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and commitment to their education.
The Academy of Scholars honors our brightest students and encourages all students to strive for academic excellence. Being named to the Academy of Scholars is a significant achievement that reflects dedication, hard work, and a commitment to learning.
2025 Academy of Scholars
GSF is proud to sponsor the annual Green High School Academy of Scholars, recognizing students who achieved a 3.5 GPA in the previous school year. Students received 1st, 2nd, or 3rd-year medals. First-year recipients received a varsity G academic letter.
Traditionally, a GHS alumnus returns to their alma mater as a guest speaker. This year, in honor of the students and his school, Dr. Joe Fortunato, GHS Class of '85, spoke to the students and guests in attendance.
Dr. Fortunato is a professor at The Sidney Poitier New American Film School at Arizona State University. Highlights of his presentation included the need to pay attention to details and prepare to "re-invent" yourself several times. Dream big, and succeed!
